The 2012 Michael Filipek Tennis Academy overnight camp will be held on the campus of Avon Old Farms School; one of the top boarding schools in New England. Founder and Director Michael Filipek will utilize decades of experience and years of planning to make each camper’s experience productive and enjoyable. Campers will play and practice on nine USTA regulation tennis courts and will have use of AOF's beautiful campus and excellent facilities.
This MFTA overnight camp is uniquely designed to maximize the experience for young players of all levels, ages 10-17. Each day will consist of at least five and half hours of on court training, with the remainder of the day dedicated to many other activities including fitness, elective sports, video analysis, lectures and rest. Every camper will receive training in all aspects of the game, including stroke technique, footwork, strategy, fitness, and match play. From beginners to tournament players, all players will receive a customized curriculum to enhance their development. With a variety of elective and evening activities, our campers will have the right balance to feel inspired and motivated.
For competitive tournament players and High School team members, the MFTA overnight camp is designed to not only reach but go beyond their goals. This is accomplished by providing focus on the main factors that many young competitive players lack: match play experience, point construction, strategy, mental and emotional control.
At the MFTA we teach players what to expect during competition and how to deal with each scenario that may arise on court during a match. Through practice matches, match charting, mental/emotional training and situational drills, players will come away from the MFTA with an understanding of what is necessary to maximize their potential.
