Juan Carlos was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As a player, Juan Carlos was ranked #1 in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean for Boy’s 18. He was also member of the Junior Davis Cup Team (Boys 16’s & 18’s) and competed in many tournaments internationally. After a successful junior career Juan Carlos was awarded a scholarship to become a member of the Division I Stony Brook University Men’s Varsity Tennis Team while he obtained an Economics & Business degree. Juan Carlos was an essential part to a NCAA Tournament berth in 2006.

As a coach Juan Carlos has worked as a Tennis Professional at the Advance Tennis Academy (San Juan, PR) and Raritan Valley Country Club (Bridgewater, NJ). He is currently a Tennis Professional and the Cardio Tennis & League Director at Sutton East Tennis Club (New York, NY). Juan Carlos brings his passionate, versatile and disciplined coaching style to the MFTA/Adidas Tennis Camp in 2011.
